given two achievements.

Didn't want to report on it till I saw it with my own eyes. The fires and quests for Midsummer have been reset.
However... I have MUCH better news for you now... There will be a new holiday called "Pilgrim's Bounty" introduced in 3.2
and is expected to be active in game around Thanksgiving. Right now all I have as far as known achievements are as follows

Bornakk has released some notes regarding fixing Midsummer here.

* We are in the process of applying an in-game fix that will restart all of the quests associated with the Midsummer Fire Festival event and allow players to complete them once again. If you are in the process of completing an achievement such as Extinguishing Kalimdor, this fix will reset your progress and you will need start over. This fix will require realms to be restarted.

For those that are concerned about the "bugs" having to do with Midsummer, including fires not being reset, and
"Unusual Activity" not being reset, this is what Blizz has to say about it.
Greetings!
While the Midsummer Fire Festival event has begun, we wanted to take some time to explain that there are some currently known issues with the Festival, and to let the community know that we are working on resolving them.
The first issue, and what seems to be the most prevalent reported issue, is regarding gaining Fire Blossoms from fire quests that were completed last year. This affects the Honor the Fires and Desecrate the Fires quests, as they appear to have not reset from last year. We understand the concerns many players have about being able to obtain enough blossoms for this year to buy what they wish, and we are actively working on the issue.
Second, there have been many reports that the quest "Unusual Activity" has not reset from last year. This is being investigated by development.
In addition, we have had many players report that Crown of the Fire Festival from last year is not granting achievement credit for King of the Fire Festival. This appears to be a result of the quest not having been completed while the achievement system was live (as last Midsummer was before the achievement system was implemented). If it were to grant retroactive achievement for King of the Fire Festival, it would have been granted upon launch of the achievement system.
While we do apologize for any frustration, we want to actively assure the community that we are working on resolving these issues, and any others that may appear. We will update this post with information as we get it.

Been working hard on the new layout in between spouts of real life interupting every now and then. In fact, the
rest of the week looks pretty busy with plans tonight, tomorrow, and father's day over the weekend. I'm going to
try my hardest to get the layout up before I leave for the weekend, but if it's not by then, expect to see it Sunday.
On a WoW note, who's excited about the new Argent Tournament stuff?
I know I am, as I've only missed two days of dailies since the feature was introduced. However, a lot of people seem
to be upset about the new dragonhawk mount. I can understand this as a lot of the Horde players with Mountain o' Mounts
are annoyed that the Sunreaver dragonhawk is essentially red. I find
this to be silly for two reasons. First off, dragonhawks are more of a BC thing, I may have missed it, but I'm 99.999% sure that there
are no dragonhawks in Northrend. Not only that, but since the alliance get the amazing looking Silver Covenant Hippogryph.
Which, ironically enough, the Alliance are complaining about lol. They say "Ugh... another hippogryph". You can follow the thread
here.
Anyway, gotta run, but I felt bad for not making a post in a lil' bit. Hope everyone in New England is enjoying this

Hello all,
For those that don't follow the Twitter Page, I am
currently working on a new layout for the site that was designed by my buddy CloudFlyin (formally "Justin", he does a lot of database work for the site).
So at some point this weekend you should see the new layout go up. I'm 100% open to ideas for things that you guys would like
to see on the front page, or things you think could be done better. Write me here with any
ideas. Right now, I plan on having a few things on the right hand side beneath the "Top 10" that will include a twitter feed,
a Blue tracker from The Official Achievement forum, but
it will be easily expandable to show contests and other things. So... if you have some ideas for what you want on the site, now's the time
to tell me about them, as redoing layouts is pretty much my idea of hell, so I'm not likely to do it too often :)

June 8th, The long awaited... much anticipated...
Hello all,
I'd like to introduce you to the newest feature of WoW-Achievements.com! A lot of
you (and I mean like... several e-mails a day... for MONTHS) have asked me to put in
a "% completed" type of feature into the site. Well, since you've all waited so
patiently, I'd like to introduce the newest feature. WoW-Achievements now tracks
players progress through specific achievements (soon to be all achievements).
Using the data that you guys gave me about what achievements you wanted tracked, I
put little achievement profile pages together, such as Lil' Game Hunter.
On this page you'll see, Name of achievement, points, faction, % of players ABOVE 4000 POINTS
who have gotten this achievement! These numbers will become more and more accurate the
longer my scanner runs, so if you think that you got your achievement before the listed
"First person" then simply wait a little bit and you'll be scanned. If there are any
rewards / Guides, you will see a link to them on these pages.
My 2nd favorite part of these new profile pages are the videos! I want to get as many
videos on this site as possible, and I want YOU guys to make some videos! Right now
I'm accepting videos linked from youtube, however I'll be adding support for all files
soon enough. Personally, the song on the video from The Lurker Above
has been stuck in my head for days... so good. Rapid Defense is the
perfect example of a helpful achievement video. Voice over, video of the achievement being completed, and
useful tips, so keep this in mind while searching out videos.
You may also notice that while looking through the achievements via the drop down menus above,
you'll see little icons depicting:

Hello all,
Progress is coming along really well on my next little feature for you guys... I know that
quite a few of you will be excited about it, however... not quite ready to reveal what it is...
(although those of you that follow the site / World of Warcraft Achievement Forums, will probably
already know what it is). So I figure I'll tease it a little bit.
Anyway, as I said, wasn't quite ready to finish that, so I put in a quick, small, but useful
feature. Go ahead, go to your profile page... do it, I'll wait... See the little link "Set
as my toon"? Yea, go ahead and click that... Now you have your default character set!
Will make it nice and easy to get back to your toon's page from any screen as the associated
link to it now appears next to the "Search" button.
Now, it's late (1:42 a.m.) and I suppose I should get to sleep...
On a personal note, I made my Mechano-Hog tonight and am
now totally broke...

May 21st, Blizzcon Ticket Contest!

I have two new things to announce today.
The first, and most important is that the contest for the 3 Blizzcon tickets starts today!
This contest is going to consist of screenshot submissions, trivia questions, and some identification.
Some will be related to achievements... some will be related to WoTLK in general, and some are just silly :).
I intend on making the questions difficult, as I really want a true fan to win these tickets. However! I don't want to
leave anyone out from a fun little website challenge, so on the day that you submit your answers you'll
have the choice to opt out from actually receiving the tickets if you just want to play along.
I'll be posting a form to submit your answers on May 25th, at which point you can submit all of
your answers. I'll pick three winners at random from the entrants who have all five questions correct.

May 18th, Concept for the contest
Hello all,
So, I've been pondering the contest I want to do for the Blizzcon tickets, and my initial thought
was a Screenshot contest... After consulting with a buddy of mine, he helped me come up with a
pretty neat idea. I'm going to be taking screenshots in game that are related to an achievement.
Based on what's in the screenshot you'll submit what you think the answer is. Trust me, you'll
get it :) At the moment I'm way too into this new scanner I'm writing and will probably start the
contest on Wednesday, as well as posting the official rules of the contest.
Also, due to the popularity of the last contest I did, if you'd like to just join in the on the fun

May 17th, Blizzcon, update, and some good news!
Hello all,
So, been a few days since you've heard from me. I've been working on the website a bit but
also been celebrating. Blizzard is sending me to Blizzcon this year for being one of their
official fansites! Whoo! And the other news? I have some tickets to give away! Three to
be exact. I'm going to be making a little contest on the site to win the tickets within the
next couple of days, so visit frequently so you don't miss anything... I'm thinking a screenshot
competition of some sort. I'll solidify the contest by tomorrow and post about it tomorrow night.
Other than that, I've got some news. I've begun work on the achievement tracking software that
I have been promising for months. I've almost got my scanner working, got my database all set up
to accept new achievements, and I'm going to track some of the harder achievements to get. The
way I see it... who cares how many people have loved a critter
or Capped a flag, when you could know who
the first person to be Insane in the membrane was
or to Open the gates of AQ amirite?
I'm going to collect data for a few days, then (assuming all goes well), let you guys see the results.
On a similar note, I'll only be collecting achievement data for people with over 4000 achievement points,
so although the % of people who have gotten the achievement may be a little off, it will be close enough
and will eventually improve. For me, I just wanna get a new feature up that won't kill my server like
the advanced search...

Hello all,
So the update looks good, you should notice a change in speed of the site, as in it
should go a lil' bit faster. I've also added the Advanced Search
section back in, which I'm excited about :) Do me a favor and don't break the website
tomorrow, it's my birthday and I'd rather not have to do emergency maintenance on it.
So, enjoy the new features! Up next as far as updates? Individual pages per achievment
hopefully with the ability to comment so this site can feel a bit more interactive... then
the super-long-awaited % of people who have specific achievements. I'm going to start off
with just a few then hopefully move to all. Two more things... I wasn't able to maintain

last night, and after midnight she still had her whistle, in fact, it said 7 days left on the cooldown because she had turned
in the orphan quest and gotten a new one. I want to know if anyone has managed to get any of the children's week achievements

Haven't made a post in a few days, and figured I would :) I know it's been a while since
I put up a real "update" to the site other than guides. I'm workin on it... with spring
here and summer readily approaching my desire to be locked inside and code has diminished,
but no worries... it's mostly related to database annoyances, once I get that stupidity
out of the way I'll be back in the swing of pumping out new features every week or two
like I used to. I still have tons of plans for this site and with the large spike of
users / influx of ad related revenue I'm pretty motivated and it sucks more than you could
know to be bottle necked at this stupid database stuff. Btw, thank you to the people who
have been sending me e-mails regarding database options / offering help. It's really appreciated.
However, this is a good time to introduce my buddy Justin. An old friend from college who
I basically owe half of this site to... guys awesome.
He runs urinvitd.com (the link that's been
on the right side of my page since ... forever. Which, I've recently convinced him to
do gamer related cards as well. Thought it would be pretty funny, and would obviously
relate to my audience a little better. (Have any funny ideas? mail me
(by e-mailing me you give up the idea so he can use itblah blah blah)).
I personally liked the "You ninja'd my heart" card that he put up around Valentine's day.
He also has another website The Roaming Pilot (still under construction)
that is pretty useful for any of you pilot's out there. Yea, did I mention Justin is a pilot?
He's also one of the best coders I know... wtf is with that right?
On another note, Blizz asked me to advertise this for them, they are asking the community
about what music they feel is still missing from the CDs in
their poll this week.

Just a quick update, it's been confirmed by both myself and by a user that e-mailed me this
morning that once you finish your quest to cart the child all around Azeroth, you can still
get him back simply by talking to the Matron again. So you can ignore my warning, I believe
it was hot fixed last night.
Update: There are a couple of known bugs with Children's Week.
1) 'Home Alone' currently uncredits once you log off
2) School of hard knocks: returning a WSG flag will sometimes not credit you. If this happens rejoin a new WSG
3) Daily Chores is currently not awarding any credit to non-humans.

April 30th, Children's week guide is up!

Just finished writing up a Children's Week guide.
There are a couple of things you'll want to know, so I'll point them out in this news post
(although they are on the guide as well). First off, and most importantly. When doing
your Children's Week quest, DON'T complete it fully (in that I mean turning in the "Back
to the Orphanage" quest. Your child will be gone and you won't be able to finish the rest
of your achievements. In other words, Aw, Isn't It Cute?
should be the last achievement you get.
Secondly, you will probably want to get yourself
a Delicious Chocolate Cake
before tomorrow, as the prices are going to SKY ROCKET.
Real quick, thank all of you who have been clicking on my ads. I'm actually really happy
with them, they are actually interesting lol. I know it's still a problem on IE, but
there's really nothing I can do about it :( I'm sorry. Use Firefox, imo, and remember,

April 26th, Couple things I've noticed about Noblegarden.

So, I've noticed a few things about Noblegarden as I approach being done with the
meta achievement. (I was the first person in Durotar to get an egg lol). Basically
you're going to run into a couple of REALLY ANNOYING things...
1. Eggs will be being camped by noobs...
2. Lots of PvP noobs are going to be hanging around near the windmasters as you fly
around to do Desert Rose
so be prepared for that.
My personal preference was to save up the 100 chocolates, then turn it in for the rabbit.
You need to farm up over two hundred chocolates for the achievements alone, so better
get to it. After you get the bunny (and hopefully the spring robes), go and do all of
the bunny related quests.
Not really a whole lot to this holiday, just keep collecting eggs and you'll be one
step closer to the Violet proto drake :)

automatically. I have been in touch with my ad agency and it seems there isn't anything that
I can do about it... however, I have personally done a little experimenting, and it doesn't
happen in Firefox...
so if you guys start using a REAL browser then you won't have the problem anymore. :) But

Ooo... yea, I forgot, I got an e-mail from a member of the community who wanted me to make up
some Excel spread sheets of all the achievements on Alliance and Horde sides so they could

worked the same way, I can understand their desire for this... I wasn't able to do it tonight
as I wanted to get that Argent Tournament guide up but it will be done sooner than later.

So, some of you may have noticed that once again... some people have been deleted from
the leadboards... the EU armory is down / shaky... it's POSSIBLE to get to your toon
but it's not likely... and once again Blizzard sent me a new error message I hadn't
accounted for and voila... more bad coding on my part redirected those people to be
deleted... Long story short... I suck, the EU armory sucks (it's had more problems than
the US version), and thus people got deleted... sorry, either way I found a check
that I wasn't doing and with ANY luck, this won't happen again.
How's your argent tournament going? Personally? I love it! I'm already a
Valiant of Sen'jin and well
on my way through the Black Knight chain.
On a side note, I wanted to /grats Ensidia of
Magtheridon - EU on the World First kill of Yogg-Saron... absolutely amazing. As well

April 15th, New Achievements / Patch 3.1.
Hello all,
A few quick things. Firstly, obviously patch 3.1 is out. For those of you who logged in tonight
perhaps you tried out the new Argent Tournament? I did... got a couple of achievements including
winning my first duel and getting Tilted!
which is very very simple.
Secondly, I added new menu options for some of the new achievements. However, the updated versions
of the Noblegarden achievements are not updated yet. The new categories are Secrets of Ulduar Raid,
Secrets of Ulduar Heroic Raid, and Argent Tournament.
Lastly, I got in touch with Camthalion, from Blackhand - US tonight, and
he agreed to let me post a few of his guides on the site. Seeing the detail and strats he put
into his guides, I have no doubt that he will be a valuable asset to the site.

Hope everyone had a good Easter.
With the possible release of 3.1 tomorrow you should see some updates to the site. Mostly
concerning new achievements and some updates to the existing pet and mount guide to include
the new Argent Tournament. Assuming it comes out tomorrow look for updates on the site
tomorrow night.
I also have plans to alter the achievement pages to redirect to their own pages. This will
allow me to add a commenting feature in the future as well as a place to store %'s of
achievements completed by users. Ugh... between that and a new feature that I will not
speak of yet as it's going to be a surprise, I have a lot of work to do... honestly I hope
the new patch doesn't come out tomorrow as I have too much work to do before it does lol.
Oh yea... lol, sorry about that last post and the trick I pulled, I felt bad I didn't get to
joke around with you guys on April Fools day, so, I made up for it :)

So, yesterday kinda sucked for me... I was informed by my hosting service that my overages were
QUITE hefty... QUITE... HEFTY... in other words, what would normally have cost me about $40 bucks
for a month and a half of hosting instead cost me $400 bucks... now yes, I've made a little money
off of ads and such, but the website is still running at a loss as I'm going nuts on CPU cycles
trying to gather achievement data for a few new features that I have incoming (including the long
awaited achievement statistics page). So, what this is all eluding to is that little "Donate" button
to the right of this news post? See how shiny it is? Mmm shiny button... What's that? It wants
you to click it... oh you naughty button... maybe just once... /poke. See! This could be YOU!
You could be having a love affair with the button! lol... but in all seriousness anything you could
donate would be a huge help as I love this site and will keep it up even if it keeps losing money
but not if I keep having to pay $400 bucks every month know what I mean?
Also, in other news, we've had (at the time of this posting) 113 entries into the book contest
which when you think of the thousands of users I get here a day really isn't much! Check the below

Hello all,
I spent tonight writing up a guide to the Noblegarden event ariving
the day that Patch goes live. I also made this website FATTER heh, I got sick of not having enough room
and running into little problems that came along with that, so now the site is a little bit fatter. I'm
sure I'll tweak it a bit more when the server is a bit more stable. Either way, I did talk to my server
company and the slow page loads are actually not my fault, and they are working on it... hopefully it gets

April 6th, Slow Server, and Noble Garden News
Hello all,
I'm aware of how slow the server has been lately, however I have identified a few areas where I can improve
the website and make it significantly quicker. The reason for the slow down is that my host is punishing me
and putting me in the kiddy corner for going WAY over my cpu cycles for this month... lol, almost tripled right
now. So I'm working on all that, also, I have a guide coming for Noble Garden, which, if you haven't heard
is going to be being pushed back to April 26th (fairly reliable rumor). It's also a week long instead of
one day (if you didn't know). The interesting thing is that it's going to overlap a couple of days with
Children's week. So, I'll do what I can in the guides to help you all out, but you may want to free up your
schedule for those couple of weeks ;).

I thought I had resolved the characters being deleted issue... apparently I hadn't... it was an
honest mistake, essentially I was looking for something backwards... a '/' in front of a word instead
of behind it, so whenever the pages would go into maintenance, characters would be deleted... This
is, however, fixed now, and should never cause us this problem again... I apologize for all of you who
were deleted and need to wait for yourselves to be re-added to the database... it shouldn't take
too long at least... Again sorry. :(

Hello all,
Wanted to give you a quick update on what you can expect to see
from the site over the next few weeks...
The biggest change you'll see is a new layout to the site... the one I'm using now, although I like it
a lot, is just too limiting... I am sure some of you have seen some errors with the right hand panel
appearing below the normal content panel, this is because of a width issue that I've been having to deal
with since I made this layout. It's served me well so far, but it's time for a change.
I have a new ad agency, adbrite and gamerDNA. I will be getting rid of google ads, as they just can't
seem to keep their "buy gold" spam off my site, despite trying my best to filter it out... more of
a hassle than I need.
The reimplementation of the advanced search. Sorry that I had to tease you guys with this, but to put it
simply... having it up was going to cost me a lot of money as it wasn't written as well as it should have
been, and it was using TONS of cpu cycles on my server... in other words, more cycles = more money... and
I just don't make enough off this site... yet...
The individual achievements section... this is where I will be showing metrics of achievement stats, such
as % of people who have this achievement, descriptions of the achievement, as well as links to any guides
that users or myself have written, and (possibly) an area to comment.
There are more things in the works, but these are the immediate items. So you will be seeing them in a couple
of weeks. I am going to Utah for a snowboarding vacation next week, and won't have access to a computer
so with any luck the site won't be in flames when I come back. I have a friend who I am going to give
admin rights to so he can fix any major issues that come a long, but ultimately, any e-mails I recieve will
probably not be returned for a week.
Well, that's about all I have to say on that, the site works right now, and I'll probably leave it in this state
for a couple of weeks. Thanks for coming :)

Hello all,
Advanced Search search is here :) Consider it a version 1.0, that will improve over time. It's been a little
while since I've released a good update so I wanted to put that up there. You'll notice the new
link next to the normal search form that says "Advanced Search". Using this new screen you can enter
any information you can think of... Want to see all Human death knights on the Shattered Hand Server? Easy!
Fill in the information, you can put in as little or as much as you want, and you'll either tighten or broaden
your results.
At the moment, I have restricted the results to 150, as I figure it will give a good idea who the top
in any configuration is. In ... call it 1.5... I'll be adding things like "You're the 2,038 highest Troll Shaman
in the world, to your player page. At the moment though, I've had several really late nights, and I'm going to sleep.
Also, if you notice a bug with the new scanner PLEASE let me know... I'm getting the last piece of my new computer
tomorrow, but won't finish building it until I know the scanner is solid.

more detailed searches, such as "I want to know all Male Horde Deathknights on Shattered Hand in order of
Points!" and BAM! You'd see that Zanthar is the

So, I managed to rig my computer to run for the moment... but, I have an interesting game for some
of you... :) Obviously I'm a software engineer, however... hardware has always been just an annoying
cousin to software for me. So, here's the game... Pretend you have $1200 dollars max to build an amazing

March 6th, 2009: My computer's toast :(
Hello all,
So... I have some good news, and some bad news... The Bad news is that my computer's finally decided
it doesn't want to be nice to me anymore... After years of beating on it like a red headed step child
it finally gave up... put it this way... my video card fan FELL OFF lol... now, yes, I could just replace
some parts, buy some stuff and keep it the same... but why? 4srsly... So, I'm going to build myself a new
better PC. Now, the good news... Three things, one... I have a ton of stocks that are doing nothing for me,
so I will be able to afford a new machine by selling them off... stupid economy. Two... I left the website in a stable condition, meaning I didn't
go poking at it too much last night and break things :)... Two, I fixed a bug that a few of you were seeing where
you were getting an error message of "There was an error inserting your guild into my database... Don't blame me! I tried twice! Try again in a little bit :(".
This was fixed, and now if you recieve the error, it will really be a problem, not a flaw in logic.
So, I'm building the computer today, having it ordered by noon, then hopefully getting it on Monday, which means
I will have limited access to e-mail for this weekend. So if you have any questions send them along, but you'll have
to wait until Monday for an answer.

Hello all,
So, I've been working hard on the scanner, which is now 100% functional and running on a couple of
computers. I will probably put it up for download in a few days, I have to put in a little "on / off"
switch for it incase having so many people scan ends up killing my database. We'll see.
The "big" update coming tomorrow is going to be full coverage on what is known about the Argent Tournament,
two new guides, one for pets written by Lintelotiel and another written by
Thrallgeld on getting mounts.
I had planned on doing more over the weekend, but instead I ended up getting my Ambassador of the Horde title, as well as completing my
Loremaster of Eastern Kingdoms and Loremaster of Kalimdor achievements.
So, I caught the bug over the weekend and had trouble prying myself away from my machine (except to go eat sushi at a friends house).
However, I did a bit of work tonight and am happy to say that the page I've developed for each individual achievement is looking good.
I think it will be a great addition to the site :)

Heroic: Glory of the Raider will no longer reward you with Reins of the Plagued Proto-Drake and the Black Proto-Drake
so I highly suggest you get crackin on your achievements if you are anywhere near completion.
The reasoning behind this is because with the release of Patch 3.1, Blizzard feels it would be too easy to get these achievements... however
there is some silver lining. Although these two mounts will no longer be available, Blizzard "will be offering new fast mounts (310 speed) as rewards for completing select achievements associated with
10 and 25-player Ulduar."

February 26th, 2009: Quick update
Hello all,
So I feel like I've been ignoring you guys lately, but I assure you I haven't been. I've spent
the last two nights working on my scanner. I finally got it to a point that I'm happy with it, and
it's collecting achievement information... FINALLY right? The good news? I'm going to be making
a nice update to the site this week with a UI change to the personal pages. The better news? Of
the over 200,000 records I've already collected I can tell you that about 8% of people have Disgracin' The Basin, lol
and the reason I bring that up is to show that I now have some metrics going on :). I'm going to
design some graphs and an individual achievement page per achievement which will include alterable
settings so you can view things such as ... "How many people in the world have The Immortal
or "How many people in my realm have it", or even "How many people in my guild have it". You'll enjoy it,
I promise :)
Also, don't quote me on this... but I may be putting in a commenting system per achievement so you can all
add your own thoughts and strats to each achievement, similar to how it's done on wowhead, but different.

February 22nd, 2009: Rewards Page Update
Hello all,
I made another quick update to the Rewards page. It looks a little slicker now, some
sexy images, some titles that I was missing were updated, and short descriptions were put in to make
finding what you want a little easier.
I also spent a lot of time today rewriting my scanner to collect Achievement info. It will be done in a day or two, and
I came to a revelation. My main concern with collecting achievement data has been that I have to hit the wow armory so
much that I was worried the site's accuracy would go down. So I realized... I have hundreds of thousands of people who come
to this site, and if even a few of them were to download and run my scanner, my database would be exponentially more accurate
and we could make this site WAY more than it currently is. The metrics (my next lil' project) would be 1000x more accurate and
I wouldn't get 50 people a day e-mailing me saying "My guild isn't accurate!" instead of just clicking their "refresh my guild"
button (lol... yea... I get that a lot, and the funniest thing is, despite this being right in the news post, I bet I'll still
get 100 e-mails today saying the same thing haha... people). Anyway, look for a nice update this week, I already have the
achievement collection working on my own toon with my sample data, I just have to make an interface for it :). Well, I've
rambled long enough, make the most out of your Monday!

February 18th, 2009: Rewards Page
Hello all,
I just finished making a Rewards page. I'm not too happy with it,
but I've been rethinking how I want to handle new achievements... basically I keep stacking things
on my plate, and I can't eat fast enough! I'll be improving the Rewards page, but at the moment
I just wanted to get the information available to everyone. So enjoy. Also, if you want
to write a guide on any of the achievements on that page simply e-mail me. Don't
worry about formatting, I'll take care of that, it's the information that's harder to gather.

February 15th, 2009: Freakin bags of candy amirite?
Hello all! I hope your Love Is In The Air achievements are going well, for those of you who
may not have started because you actually had a date yesterday (yes, that's right, poor Mep was alone yesterday), you'd better get crackin the whip, it took me
three days to get all of the stupid Heart Candies, and I'm certainly not alone in that. There has been a ton of
QQing about the drop rate of this and the idea of having Random Number Generators (RNG) and to some extent the bags of candy have had their drop rate increased.
I wanted to let you know what I have on my plate for the next little while as far as updates. You will see the following soon:
- Search by Class
- Search by Race
- Sorting by who has the most of Achievements per category (like Feats of Strength)
- Gathering of Achievements
- % of Achievements completed per achievement. Like (7% of people have completed The Loremaster)
- Finally putting in that pesky Rewards page that I've been meaning to make
- More Guides
I have more on my plate but those are what is coming in the near future. Also, I put the google ads back on my site
because, while they were entertaining, those little video ads took too long to load and the company lied to me about
my % kick back of click throughs... sooooooooo I give them a very hearty "kthxbai".

February 12th, 2009: Bouquet of Red Roses still around?
So, I just got an interesting e-mail. Apparently tonight at 11:20 P.M. EST
the Bouquet of Red roses dropped off of Prince Keleseth in
Utgarde Keep on Earthen Ring... I can't confirm this, but I did double check to make sure it wasn't the
Bouquet of Ebon roses and she said both dropped but the Red roses had a smaller drop rate... interesting.
Info came from Illyiria of Earthen Ring. This has been confirmed by Ginevra of Dragonblight

February 10th, 2009: Love Is In the Air starts Tomorrow (and a little update)!
So, The Love Is In The Air event starts tomorrow morning, assumptions are that it starts at 4 a.m. which means two things...
one, get it done early, and get it done fast using the Guide I wrote up last night so you don't have to miss
Saturday evening with your special lady or special guy for obvious reasons... (They might try to make you stop playing WoW! NOOOOOOO!)... what? Is there
anything better they could take away? /shrug... Two, I will probably put off some of the progress I've been making lately to get my achievement, but once
I get it, I'll get back to work... because of that I'm going to push back my self imposed deadline until next weekend. Lastly, I was written by a member
of our community, Nuurdraen of Kil'Jaeden telling me that in the 3.0.8 patch notes they removed
the ability to send your alts unopened Gifts of Adoration, so you won't be able to depend on that this year QQ.

February 8th, 2009: Total achievements now being tracked
Hi all! I was gone most of the weekend however I did take a little
time tonight to add the first of several parts leading to the sites next big feature :) You will
see it unfold. Now, on player's personal pages, such as Minipuff's page
you can see how many of what achievements they have in each category. Not overly impressive you say?
I agree :) However, most of what I wrote tonight was the back bone for the feature as a whole.
There is more than meets the eye to this update, but for now, lets all gawk at Beelsebub's Feats of Strength.
Come on man... 30?! Give someone else a chance :)

Hello everyone! Just got a letter from Blizzard about the whole Sales of WoW being stopped in Australia.
Apparently it's all false.

I also have some WoW-Achievements.com news, I am going to be out of town for the next couple of days, however... I have found a nice
way to make my site run a bit faster AND start tracking character achievements. This will be about a week long project (optomistically)
and if all comes out looking how I want it to, it will be NICE!
One last note, the EU armory has been acting a little funky today, as far as I can tell, it's having issues updating players points, for
instance, if you visit anyone from the EU's armory you'll notice all kinds of funky problems... I'm really getting annoyed at the EU armory,
as it's been flakey lately. It's a great software and all, but when they update it it's usually buggy... /shrug nothing I can do about it,
if you notice you've been deleted, just go search for yourself again, it's not a huge deal, it seems better than it was earlier this morning.

February 3rd, 2009: Site going down for a half hour tonight.
If you remember my post a few days ago about failing at SQL, I
changed my SQL statements and made them much more gooderer. Soooooooo, I am going to be
having my code switched to a different server... not sure why, but the guy tells me that it
will bring my site down for about a half hour. I plan on doing this around 11 p.m. EST, so
sadly for you people in California, you won't be able to use the site during core hours... BUT...
it's a necessary evil, sorry :( I'm working on some updates, not sure if they will get up tonight
or not, but we'll see ;)

I'm taking a few suggestions to heart and using some cookies to maintain
your choices. I just added the little dropdown above the Top Ten list, to allow you to
select Worldwide, US, or EU. I also handled (what I know was a pain) where your choices
of Region, Realm and Character will be maintained when you come back :) No more typing
it every time! YAY!

The reason I removed it was because they were showing adds that were against the Terms of Service of being a worldofwarcraft.com fansite,

February 2nd, 2009: Armory having issues again
Hey guys, quick update. The EU wow armory was having issues earlier this morning, sadly, my scanner never really took into account
when a user ends up having less points than they currently have in my database... why would it... I'm not that smart lol, but either way, I passed
on showing up early to work today so I could fix it. Got to work on time, but I really wanted to get a breakfast sandwich at this little deli near me...
so I HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY WOWARMORY! :) Anyway, do me a favor, if you see anything acting funky today, let me know through the support page please?

January 31st, 2009: Couple questions answered.
Hey everyone! Thank you to all of you who filled out my little
survey below, and I'd still like to hear from everyone. I wanted to comment on a couple
of responses that I saw more than a couple times.
- My character is only showing with xxxx points, but I have xxxx points... FIX IT NAO!
I must get this message 10 times a day, which I find funny because I put an
answer to it on the FAQ page... but nevertheless, the rankings are displayed by what values I
currently have in my database... these values are determined both when hit by my scanner (which runs
24 hours a day) or when you visit your own personal page. Once every hour I "expire" your point
value and, when visited, I check for that expiration and update it. So, if you are seeing invalid
or older information, simply visit your page, and it will update itself... shame on you for not
visiting my site more often ;)
- I would like to see different options for the top 10
I got
quite a few requests for this feature... more than I expected as it's one of the few suggestions I got
that hasn't crossed my mind before. I think it's a great idea and look forward to putting it in.
- MOAR GUYDS!!!
Yes... I did get that as an e-mail... and I lol'd heartily...
essentially people want me to write up some more guides to some of the harder achievements, such as Well Read,
Higher Learning, To All The Squirrels I've Loved Before,
and others. These things are always a pain to write, BUT, I love when people tell me how much my guides help them, so, I will make
an effort to write up some awesome guides for you. If you would like to submit one yourself, I'd be happy to review it and post it.
I'll even give you a little shout out after the guide. One man can't do all the work, but I'm happy to have the community help me out :)
- Have an "Achievement of the week" with a guide
I really like this idea, and
will probably put it up... but it may end up being more like "Achievement of the almost every week", hey, I have a life outside of
WoW too :)
- Is it cool if I link to your site from my site?
Yes, that's fine, simply find your
link and link it on your own site, I'm totally ok with that ;) If you want to help send some people to my site you can even show one of
my Banners. And no, I didn't make this one up...
- The option to scan a whole guild
I gotta say, this one struck me as a
surprise, and only one person sent it to me, however, I wanted to make sure all knew how to use it. On a players personal page, there
is a link that says "Refresh my guild". If you click it, it is moved to the front of my scanner's queue. However, this can only
be used once every five days.
- Secksy Graphs and Charts?
It's coming... not sure when, but it is coming.
This will include showing who, got which achievements first, who knows, you may have been the world's first Bloodthirsty Berserker
or the fastest drunk in the world. Riea I'm
looking at you, lol.
- I'd like to see more types of rankings.
Some suggested types of sorting were
Class, Race, Level, and such. I don't think I'll be doing level, as that bores me... however, I would like to do the class and race
versions. I will be doing this soon.
- Make a mod to help me find and complete achievements!
I originally had a plan
to do this, however... imo, LUA (the language that mods are written in) kind of stinks as a programming language... so I never bothered.
Luckily, someone beat me to it, and made Overachiever.
This mod rocks and I have had it installed since my friend Avelon
told me about it.
- Can we have a US leaderboard since I don't care about EU?
This part made me laugh, for those of you who haven't noticed, the textboxes and drop
downs up top are very dynamic, you can make any combination of them and hit search and it will
work. Select only US? It will show all people in the US. Select EU, and type in a Realm name?
It will show only people in that realm in EU. The only combination that doesn't work quite yet
is Region + Realm + (Guild) drop down, and leaving the last textbox blank. Although this is
also in the works, just thinking of the best way to rank guilds. I am thinking I will
average all of the level 80's and rank among that... but I may also rank them based on end dungeon content
cleared. I haven't decided yet.
- A drop down or predictive text on the Realm textbox.
This has been on my list of things to do for longer than I like to admit,
and will get done sooner than later... although I am not quite sure when.
- Sig generator?
Yea, I'm getting to it eventually... I know I promised it about 2 months ago,
but um... something came up... yea... ;)

Hey there everyone, been working a lot on the database today, and I have
great news! It's not excruciatingly slow anymore! Whee!!! Thanks for being so patient with the
random issues that the site has been having over the last day while I switch servers. There are
a couple more improvements I plan on adding, but go ahead... click on a player's name... go ahead,
do it, I'll wait... see that? BAM! A bit faster don'tcha think? :) Anyway, you'll be seeing
some real improvements to the site now that it's featured all over the place, and I would like
to thank all of you who have been going to the site for months and helping keep me motivated :)

January 29th, 2009: Whoopsy...
Well, as was expected I'm having issues with all the new visitors. Mainly being
database issues. I'm not a crazy SQL guru unfortunately, I stick to web code... however, this presents a
problem in that my website is currently looking and updating the old database. What does this mean for you?
Users will update as expected, but the "Refresh my guild" feature is put on hold for a day while I fix it. And
will be updating on the new database (you won't see these changes till I switch over to the new database).
I should have everything working by tomorrow night with any luck, and the site will actually run quite a bit
faster too :) It's all good. Oh, and welcome all of you new worldofwarcraft.com visitors!

January 28th, 2009: What's that? Fansite?
Well, I promised you guys some great news... and here it is! see that link at the bottom under
community spotlight? Yea... that's us! Whoo!!! Wow-achievements is featured on their fansite page and we
are number 15/15 ... out of ALL the wow sites out there only 15 sites have been chosen as fansites?! I think I've earned a beer :)

to the nth degree for you all!

I have some GREAT news that I can't wait to share with you all, however I need a couple days
before I can tell you. CLIFFHANGER! Anyway, this is a little warning, I'm going to be switching
my server over to a dedicated server, to try to fix a few of these SLOW WEBSITE IS SLOW problems.
So... if the site goes down at all, or information is a little behind then hold tight. If
everything isn't awesome by Friday then you'll know, cause I'll be freaking out. I also removed the
google adds as I am going to be switching ad hosting agencies.

Something funky is happening to the wow armory at the moment. If you
check out our friend Beelsebub, you will
see that Blizzard has screwed a lil' something up with the achievement points. That's why a lot of
you are showing up as having 10 points or less. So please give the armory a little time to
correct itself, I'm pretty sure they only made the change I mentioned below yesterday so there
is obviously a bug with it. My scanner is still running as it doesn't get the point values from
the individual player pages but if you do a search for yourself it will erase most of your points...
I'll keep you up to date on this one.

January 21st, 2009 : New Achievements and Faster EU parsing
Hi All!
With the new patch 3.0.8, among all of it's failures, it does a have a couple of good points.
There were 8 new achievements released in this patch. However... my parser is broken at the moment
because I failed at coding it properly a few months ago. (It's amazing how much better you can get
at coding when you actually do it every day for a few months lol), and I plan on rewriting it from
scratch tomorrow night. So look for an update regarding that change tomorrow night. Also, sorry for
being so quiet lately, I've found myself in a bit of a strange mood lately where I've been going
OUTSIDE a lot more often than normal, and because of that, haven't had quite as much time to work
on the site. HOWEVER! I just noticed that the EU wowarmory finally got it's act together and changed
a lil' something about it's format. Because of that, I am able to scan guilds INFINITELY faster... and
by INFINTELY I mean, like... instead of about 6 minutes or so per EU realm, think of it more like 30 seconds.
Hey, I'll take it :).
I am actually anxious to work on the site, but unfortunately, my mortal enemy "sleep" will not leave
me alone... and I must go apease it. Goodnight all!
P.S. I'm happy to see the leader board is a bit more diverse now!

All hail Zoltan, our new leader! Come on Beelsebub, you gonna let him do that to you? Or how about getting a horde up at top? That would make
ME happier... buuuuuuuut... Blizz is failing at fixing the Battlemaster Achievements. Horde are not able to get the 50 points from the Battlemaster Achievement,
25 from Master of Strand of the Ancients Achievement, and 20 from the Storm the beach Achievement, (thanks to one of visitors for reminding me of this).

I won't be able to support other languages unless I move up to a dedicated server. Which means
more money that the site isn't currently making. So I'm sorry Russia and China and any other
countries :( If click through rates remain the way they have over the last few days a

Just a quick note, I've been really busy lately and haven't gotten much of a chance to update.
I've made some changes locally but they aren't ready for release yet. However, I wanted to thank you all for clicking
on my adds on the right hand side. Not sure why, but the clicks have been crazy the last few days. It helps me pay
for the server and certainly motivates me to work a lil' bit harder lol.
Also worth noting, I'm going to be adding support for Russian soon. I've been getting a few e-mails requesting it
so look for that change soon.

January 6th, 2009 : Personal Pages Updated
This is a quick and sloppy update, however I wanted to put it up either way,
we'll see if it remains. At the moment it's slightly slow, taking about 5 seconds to load a personal
page... however the reason for this is that it is always dynamically updating ranking. I don't want
to have stored values, because stored values tend to get out dated very quickly, and if 5 seconds is
the price to pay to have values that are never more than an hour old, personally... I'm willing to
accept it.... at least until I figure out a better query for it lol :) Either way, bear with it, as
I finally figured out how I want to do the presenting of achievements per player, so look for that within
the next week or so!

Hello all,
The Lunar Festival is upon us in just a couple of weeks (January 24th), and I figured I'd get a jump on things
and write the Lunar Festival Guide up for all of you! Special things to work on before
the 24th...
Hit level 80: You have to go into Utgarde Pinnicle to get one of the elders, so you'll want to be high 70's or 80.
Getting any flight paths you have missed won't kill you, especially if you are planning on doing the Elders of Northrend and you aren't quite 80 yet.

December 28th : Worked all day...
Still working on the below mentioned update. As usual, 80% of
what I've updated you won't see (database stuff), however I am finally improving the player
pages, and preparing the database to start collecting Achievements. I've been working on it
since around 10 p.m. last night (with a few hours sleep in there somewhere) and am just waiting
to improve one of my database queries to not take 8 seconds to run (guh...). However, I've worked
hard enough for the last couple days, and after listening to the entire Red vs. Blue
series both on youtube, and on roosterteeth, I think it's time for a break... I got a wii for x-mas, and
I've got some eternal ocean to play :)

December 27th : Update incoming!
Hello everyone,
Hope you all had a Happy Holiday! The site was mentioned again on Wowinsider.com, in comparison to
another site that popped up. However, their point values don't update as frequently as wow-achievements and
a few other reasons that I won't dwell on why their site is inferior to this one... however, I have
felt the need to step it up a little bit, so I am going to be working on a feature tonight into tomorrow
morning. We'll see what it develops into, check back tomorrow to see. And thanks again for choosing
wow-achievements instead of the alternatives. I appreciate it :)

December 22nd : Duplicate data
Hello all, hope you had a great weekend and got your Winter Veil achievements done.
I've gotten a couple of e-mails related to some duplicate data on the leaderboards, I'm aware of
the problem and am working to fix it. This is due to a new modification I made to my scanner which
makes the US realms update extremely fast (can scan all US realms in under an hour), however the EU
realms are still not modified for this due to the EU armory not being updated fully yet. I will
fix the issue with duplicate data either tonight or tomorrow afternoon.

on wowhead reveals a special way including dying, and climbing mountains, I suggest you try it out, I

overly easy, however it took me FOREVER to find a Draenei priest... ugh. We three manned "The Nexus"
to get the Red Winter Hat, took no time at all.

Wanted to make a quick post about one of our forum members. His name is Points

December 10th : Held back a bit
Hey Guys,
So, last night, I was fortunate enough, and blessed enough, to go and get a virus... yea...
I feel like a pretty big noob, who would have thought a site as funny as failblog.org would have
infected me... Either way, it's almost gone, I didn't have time to finish checking for it because
it was getting late, but I did start making updates to my local version... so, sorry for not making
an update yesterday, but for any of you out there... you know what it's like when your computer gets
infected... there is NOTHING more important in the world.
That aside, with the help of one of our forum members "Choppas", I now have the ability to grab
achievements off of the wowarmory in bulk, so my problem of having to hit the server 11 times per
person is no longer the case. So I will most likely work on that during the weekend.

December 7th : Weekend off
Hey Guys,
I decided to take the weekend off for the most part, however I did alter one program I have running
that updates guild members, only spent about an hour on it, but at least it was something :)
I was trying to get my toon geared a bit, as I've been working on this site so much I haven't
been gearing up and am still in a decent amount of T6... soooooo... tomorrow night (Monday) I have
a company christmas party, so I won't be making much if any updates tomorrow either... but Tuesday
I intend on hitting this thing like the fist of an angry god, and will finally get my "Guides" section
up and running. This section includes what achievements grant you titles, items, mounts, whatever...
As well as a month by month list of achievements, so you won't be taken by surprise at things like
Fa-la-la-la-Ogri'la. (Speaking of which make sure you
have completed the chain that opens up the Bomb them again! quest
so you don't have to rush and get it done when the Holiday officially starts a week from tomorrow (Monday)).
So keep a watch out for more updates coming soon. See ya :)

December 4th : A few hours of programming
Hey Guys,
Spent a few hours today modifying a program I run behind the scenes to add more
people to the database. Long story short, you should notice your guilds being filled out
more with more updated points. I also decreased the amount of time between updates via
player queries (clicking on a player's name) to a 2 hour interval instead of a 1 day. This
will make player values update quicker, and should make it a bit more fun to watch our
top 10 move around a bit :)
Lastly, I made it so that the wow armory link in your profiles opens in a new window instead
of leaving my site (had a complaint or two about that.)

December 3rd : Refreshing guilds, Slight improvement to the player pages, and gathering Achievements

It's "too-late" o'clock here, and I just finished with a small update. Essentially, I was sick of seeing
my guildies points not moving because some of them wouldn't check... I also wanted a better way
for those of us who are more diligent with checking our points to be able to keep the rest of
our guildies up to date. Thus, I added the magical "Refresh my guild" button on the player pages.
Feel free to check out your player page and click it! I also added shortcuts to your guilds, realms, and player name leaderboards.
As I said, small update. I spent the majority of the night working on the database, and have come
up with a way to gather all of the achievement data. Except it has to hit the armory 11 times to do it...
this could be a problem... but I'll keep working on it and see what becomes of it :)
Either way, enjoy the little update, and I'll let you know what I am up to after I get some sleep.
December 2nd : Wow Armory down
"I'm sure some of you have noticed that after
searching for yourselves (today only) your score remains zero...
That is because of the usual Tuesday downtime, and should be fine in
a few hours. This is as of 3:42 p.m. EST. Apparently I was smart enough
to build in support for when the armory is down :)
This has been fixed, the armory is back up and everything is updating as expected.
Look for an update regarding things to look forward to during December
before Thursday (hopefully tonight).
I figured it out!!! I know how to get the Achievements up on the site and track who has what completed! Woot!
I'm very excited! Depending on how long it will take, look for an update over the next couple of days!
November 29th : Big update!
First off, hope everyone (that had one) had a great holiday!
Secondly, I have been working for the past... oh... nine hours on the site, made a lot
of improvements to the database, and the general speed of the site. The most important of
which is the full integration of the points system.
Before tonight, I had a program I wrote running to try to fill in all the "0"'s that I had
floating around on the boards, but as there are over two million people in my database, and a few hundred
new users being added every day, it was going to take days to really get them all updated.
So what I did was made it so when you search for yourself, or when you click on a name on one of the
leaderboards, the points will be refreshed (only allows one update per user per day, sorry but I don't
want to get my server IP banned from Blizz).
To see this in action, find a person on the boards with 0 points and click on their name. You
will be taken to their personal page, with (currently very limited) information about them. And
They will be updated, or deleted if they don't exist anymore.
With the amount of updates that I made today there are bound to be a couple bugs, although I spent
the last hour or so testing everything I could think of, so please, if you find anything submit
a bug here.

November 27th : Been working diligently & Happy Thanksgiving!
So, I have been working all night on the new information. I wrote a program to scan the armory for your point values, so those are being automatically populated now, over two million people and Blizzard makes us limit our pinging of their server, so it will take a couple of days to finish.
As far as bringing down the information about Achievements, man... proving to be difficult... but I'll keep working on it. Blizzard decided to magically change the way they output their information.
Hope everyone in the US has a Happy Thanksgiving, and hope anyone in Canada has a happy "Copy America's Thanksgiving" lol.

leveling your mains, leveling your death knights, riding dragons, and watching epic cut
scenes. I know I have been, however I've also been working on the site. There are some
great things coming soon, however I didn't quite finish this weekend (hey, I'm only human
and WoTLK is just too good (and Karney
my raid leader is crackin the whip on our leveling). What I WOULD like though, is if anyone
out there is into creating mods, I have a request, Blizzard
is taking WAY too long to update their armory, and I want to get this site off the ground.
If you are interested in writing a mod to help me collect data about people's achievements,

November 14th : Playing WoTLK?
I hope everyone is having fun with the new expansion and racking in
those achievements. Wow-insider has an article about 10
Easy Northrend Achievements. Worth checking out. Which actually brings me to my next point.
I have several things planned for updates coming very soon (like this weekend). I will be adding
a section for achievements to strive for that give rewards,
as well as a section to upload achievement guides, with support
for images and some formatting, so look for it!

the Argent Dawn Scouts. They will send you to Lights Hope Chaple to go and kill some Scourge
and reward you with the Tabbard!

I have spent the last couple days working a lot on this site. I have added support for our friends from Europe via the "Region" drop down above. Also, I have added a method of getting information from my database a lot faster, so clicking the "See all Players Overall" button on the right isn't painfully long anymore! Also, you can now search for any of the fields above by themselves, for example, I could search for Character "Mep" and see all the Mep's and their ratings. Same with the Realm, and Region. Enjoy!

Well, the Brewfest is gone, and it seems I was right about both the
food and the beer Achievements. It looks like you are able to keep the items in your
mail, as the timer on mine has not decreased since yesterday (still says 2 days). Coming

I did it! :) Wrote this super complex recursive dealy that will find
all people on the wow-armory... except people who are both unguilded AND have a unique

Working on an UBER crawler for wowarmory, so wow-achievements.com won't
be dependent on people entering themselves, for us to be able to find them.

Been slacking as far as working on this site, I still have a lot of
work to do, but without knowing how WoW is going to lay out their achievements, it's hard
to stay motivated. However, I now have a list of all achievements (wrote that program on
the 5th) and I just updated it today. I'll be writing a tree view to see it tomorrow on
the 13th. Oh, and hi Riahykips, told you I'd put it up :) Also, if you see this site and
